An Isle of Wight woman will be hoping to continue her medal-winning spree as she competes for World Cup glory over the weekend.

Kim Murray, from Ryde, is representing Team GB in Sigulda, Latvia for the Skeleton World Cup.

She will kick off the campaign with a race tomorrow (Sunday).

Only last month (November), the 30-year-old claimed her first ever gold medal in the European Cup competition – beating German Janine Becker by nine-hundredths of a second.

Kim also took home silver in another of the competition’s races earlier last month, only losing out to Team GB teammate Madelaine Smith.

Speaking after her Word Cup call-up, Kim told Isle of Wight Radio:

“It’s what I’ve been working towards since I started in this sport four years ago.”
