Here are some of the stories which made the news headlines on the Isle of Wight in June 2018.

 

Emergency services descended on Shanklin and Sandown golf Course after a light aircraft crash-landed.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the incident which happened after the plane’s engine cut out.

The pilot managed to walk away unharmed.

 

A pod of dolphins were spotted off Sandown and Shanklin.

They were captured on camera splashing around this morning in the Bay, both off Sandown and Shanklin.

A host of celebrities were spotted at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

As well as some of the world’s biggest performers, many other celebs were spotted off stage soaking up the atmosphere.

Peter Crouch, Colin Firth and Burnley manager, Sean Dyche were all seen at the event which was headlined by Kasabian, The Killers and Liam Gallagher.
