Here are some of the stories that were making the headlines on the Isle of Wight in November 2018.

 

A devastating fire tore through the Isle of Wight Pet Centre in Newport.

Firefighters on six appliances from across the Island, the Incident Command Unit and the Aerial Ladder Platform were called to Watergate Road in Newport at 11pm.

A fire service spokesperson said the blaze started in the shop area and a number of birds, reptiles and rodents have died.

 

 

TV’s Dick and Dom are launching a brand new family festival on the Isle of Wight and it will be here in August 2019!

Taking place on 1-4 August, at an Isle of Wight location that is yet to be revealed, we are told to expect a “school’s out, old school, new school, no rules spectacular with music, magic, and immersive family fun”.

Superstars Liam Payne and Michael Buble will be making a special appearance on the Isle of Wight.

The Hut at Colwell Bay will be hosting an Armada-style brunch with BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans and music stars, Michael Buble and Liam Payne, in aid of Children in Need – and Islanders could be joining them!
