Ryde Boots is currently closed today (Saturday) after a water leak at the store led to a loss of power.
The retailer and pharmacy had to shut its doors temporarily yesterday (Friday) as Storm Erik battered the Island.
As reported, roads turned to rivers and ferries were cancelled as a result of the weather.
There were reports that the store’s roof had collapsed but a spokesperson for the company confirmed that this was not the case:
“The roof hasn’t collapsed in the store, but there has been a water leak through the ceiling which meant the store was without power. We’re working to get the store reopened as soon as possible.”
Customers are being redirected to Union Street’s Gibbs and Gurnell or Tower House on Rink Road.
