A Freshwater man has been arrested after emergency crews were twice called to the village’s Sunset Close in just 24 hours.
Hampshire Constabulary says it was called shortly before 9am today (Tuesday) to a bungalow on Sunset Close in Freshwater after a 53 year-old man was assaulted.
Officers say he was not seriously hurt.
They are carrying out enquiries to establish if the incident is linked one at the same address yesterday (Monday) where a smoke grenade was placed in a letterbox.
Fire crews have also been called to the incidents.
A 58 year-old man from Freshwater has been arrested in suspicion of assault, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and arson with intent and remains in police custody at this time.
