Isle of Wight school Christ the King College came home with second-place in their 2019 Rock Challenge heat last night (Monday).
The Newport school performed dance ‘Macchina Del Tempo’, a routine based on the life artist Leonardo Da Vinci, at Portsmouth’s Guildhall.
They fought off stiff competition from six other schools across the region and also claimed awards for lighting, performance skills, concept, stage use, entertainment and stage crew.
The school was also commended for set design and function, visual enhancement, drama and soundtrack, with parental involvement also being noted.
Tonight (Tuesday), Sandown’s The Bay and Ryde School are in action. Tomorrow, (Wednesday) it is the turn of Medina and Ryde Academy.
Isle of Wight primary schools are also taking part.
