11 sheep have died after a dog attack in the Carisbrooke area.

The owner of the flock reported that one sheep was mauled by the animal and the other ten died from shock.

The Isle of Wight’s Country Watch team says the incident happened in a small holding near to Carisbrooke Castle.

Police say it has caused “a lot of distress and financial loss to the owner”.

Dog owners are being reminded to keep dogs on leads especially when near to livestock.
