Islanders are being told to expect disruption to travel as a warning for fog comes into force overnight.

The Isle of Wight Met Service says a yellow weather warning has been issued for 10pm today (Thursday) and will remain in place until 1pm tomorrow (Friday).

Forecasters say:

“Fog patches will develop overnight and these will become widespread and dense in places with significantly reduced visibility in some locations later in the night.

“As we move into tomorrow (Friday) morning the fog is likely to dissipate across more central, western and northern parts of the Island but the risk will continue for a while longer in the east and south of the island including the eastern Solent.

“As we move into the afternoon the fog may well lift into low cloud with locations further west and north seeing clearer spells.”
