A living history fan says he will return to the Isle of Wight in August, following his successful tour as King Charles I.

The monarch, who was imprisoned at Carisbrooke Castle before he was beheaded and whose daughter is buried at Sts Thomas Minster church in Newport, is recreated by Daniel Williams.

He retraces the King’s steps around the country and this weekend he travelled to the Island, tweeting via @KingCharlesIRTN as he went.

Taking in the Needles (which Charles visited in 1647), Carisbrooke Castle (to see the King’s former walking stick and to play bowls on the castle’s famed green) and St Boniface Church (where the King stopped at a funeral), he also met Islanders. If you snapped a selfie, we’d love to see it ([email protected] or via social media).
