Isle of Wight-born skeleton slider Kim Murray has not been included in Great Britain’s World Championship squad – despite recording a personal best in an event last week.
Kim, from Ryde, has been out in Canada competing in the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup.
She last competed on Friday (22), coming seventh in the final race of the World Cup season. Kim recorded a personal best of 1:55.66 in her second run in Calgary.
She was hoping her fine form would secure her a spot in the IBSF World Championship squad. However, she has tweeted to say she will not be travelling to Whistler with the rest of the team.
She says she is ‘disappointed’ with the decision:
Disappointed doesn’t even come close to describing how I’m feeling just now. Don’t have the words yet to articulate something positive so I’ll leave it there for now. See ya soon UK 🇬🇧 I’m coming home 🏡 https://t.co/oKcaOCJr14

Olympic bronze medallist Laura Deas will be hoping for her first World Championship Medal when the competition gets underway on March 7th and 8th.
