She’s known by her initials AOC and is one of the rising stars of the Democratic Party in the United States.
Now Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could follow in the footsteps of Jeremy Corbyn and address thousands of people at the Glastonbury Festival.
The 29-year-old congresswoman from New York has reportedly been invited to talk at this year’s event, which returns in June after a break in 2018.
It is not known whether Ms Ocasio-Cortez, who has been dubbed the Beyonce of politics, has accepted the organisers’ invitation, reported by The Sunday Times.
But if she does attend and wants tips on how to woo the crowd she could call the left-wing Labour leader, whose speech in 2017 received a rapturous reaction among the Somerset revellers.
The two socialists previously talked on the phone in February, with Mr Corbyn later praising her for challenging the status quo.
And the congresswoman returned the compliment, saying she had a lovely and wide-reaching conversation and gushed about their great hope in the peace, prosperity, + justice that everyday people can create when we uplift one another across class, race, + identity at home & abroad.
More recently, Mr Corbyn has responded to Ms Ocasio-Cortez’s request on Twitter for gardening tips.
Meanwhile there is speculation the Labour leader is on standby if AOC cannot make it.
She has gained a considerable fanbase since being elected in the 2018 mid-term elections and has nearly four million Twitter followers along with more than three million on Instagram.
Her priorities include tackling climate change – and her environmental stance would most likely go down well among the eco-friendly crowd at the festival which has banned single-use plastic bottles on site.
She has also been talked about as potential presidential material – but she will have to wait for any bid as you need to be aged at least 35 to run for the White House.
