“You haven’t heard the last of BoRo” says its owner, who has announced that the 17-seater bike will not return to Ryde this year.
Dominic Wong, who launched the bike in 2018, says Government red tape means he cannot run it on the Isle of Wight this year, however he plans to launch it in Bournemouth this summer.
He wrote on Facebook,
“It is with great disappointing regret that red tape with the Department of Transport has meant the BoRo Beach Bike will not be coming back to Ryde. I have been tirelessly working over the Winter to overcome the issues, including speaking to my MP, to no avail. Bureaucracy has put the brakes on my entrepreneurial venture. I want to thank everyone on the Isle of Wight for their support, enthusiasm and encouragement over the last few months. I am absolutely gutted.”
