Two people have been arrested following reports of a man holding a weapon in Yarmouth yesterday (Sunday).

Hampshire Constabulary says its officers were called to Quay Street at 7.38pm yesterday evening.

A member of the public reported that they had seen a man with a stun gun.

Police have confirmed a 20-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid, gas, electrical incapacitation device, or thing.

He remains in custody at this time.

Another man arrested has been charged with obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of their duty.

49-year-old Mark Stephen Green of Christchurch Road in Downton has been bailed and will appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 14 May.
