People who bought tickets to see From The Jam, as part of the Jack Up The Weekend event, will be able to see the band at a rescheduled gig on a date due to be released shortly, it has been announced. However, Big Country fans are being offered entry to 2020’s Jack Up The Summer instead.

As Isle of Wight Radio previously reported, Jack Up organisers cancelled two concerts at Medina Leisure Centre, which were due to take place last night (Friday) and today. They blamed “technical reasons” and said they hoped to reschedule both bands for one night later this year.

In a statement today they say that is now impossible:

“Owing to a jam-packed tour schedule with many dates outside of the UK it is unfortunately proving impossible to secure a date for a double-headed concert as was originally proposed
by the band’s management.

“The number one priority for Team Jack Up is to give existing ticket-holders some good
news and as such we are pleased to advise that…

“Your original Big Country tickets will now get you in to see not only Big Country but a whole host of other acts at next year’s Jack Up The Summer festival on Saturday 8 August 2020.

“Your original From The Jam tickets will be honoured when From The Jam return to perform a rescheduled date at Medina Leisure Centre sports hall to be confirmed in the next week. We appreciate that this is a longer wait than anticipated and don’t want to disappoint. We also promised all ticket holders the chance to see two headline bands for the price of one therefore ALL existing ticket holders will ALSO receive complimentary entry to the Friday night of THIS year’s Jack Up The Summer.”

Organisers have also unveiled plans for an Ultimate Ska Wars night on 9 August, with Ska’d for Life and Bad Manners. The event is also being opened to Jack Up The Weekend ticket holders “as our way of saying sorry for any inconvenience caused and to thank music fans for their ongoing support.
