Overnight parking charges on the Isle of Wight have been delayed and will not start until early June.
The controversial charges, brought in under the latest budget proposals, were expected to come into force well before that, but some Islanders have reported issues with machines not accepting the right amount of change.
Now the council has said due to requirements for new street signage and machine software, it is likely the start date for all on and off-street overnight charges will be early June.
A council spokesperson said:
“People are advised to check the tariff boards as these will be changed to indicate overnight charging has started.”
