A man had to be cut free from bags of trouble in the River Medina last night (Tuesday).
Cowes RNLI was called to a section of the river between the Kingston and Medina wharves at 10:45pm.
On arrival the crew found a man aboard an 18-foot launch which had a part-submerged one-tonne builder’s bag wrapped around its propeller.
The lifeboat crew cut the bag off and ensured the launch made it safely to a yacht in mid-river, on which the man was staying.
Crews stood down at around 11.30pm.
