Islanders are joining a ten mile walk along the River Thames in London today (Saturday), in support of a mental health project.

Sarah Kearns and her son Harry are fundraising for the Wave project, which aims to support young people on the Isle of Wight through surfing.

Walking Out Of Darkness” is organised by the charity CLASP, which supports those affected by, and aims to prevent, suicide.

Dubbed “the world’s first ‘surf therapy’ course”, Sandown’s Wave project tackles anxiety, increases confidence and offers peer support.
