Around 400 people are taking part in the Newchurch Nine fun run today (Sunday).

The annual event has grown year on year and takes in the sights and sounds of Newchurch.

There are three distances – 900m, 4.5km and 9km – for adults and children of various running abilities.

The sold out event raises money for Newchurch Primary School.

The school’s PE Coordinator, Adam Tuck, said:

“It gives people of all abilities a good opportunity to run. It’s a family event and completely traffic free as it is around the woods of Newchurch.

“All money goes towards the school. We have a project each year and this year money is going towards computer equipment for the younger children in the school.”
