First-class cricket returns to the Isle of Wight today (Monday).
Hampshire are taking on Nottinghamshire at Newport’s Newclose County Cricket Ground.
The County Championship match is the first, first-class cricket game to be played here since 1962.
The last match to take place on the Island was Hampshire versus Worcestershire which was played at J S Whites ground in Cowes.
Newclose was chosen following in-depth discussions with a number of local venues and the ECB.
The match is set to run for the next four days.
