Isle of Wight singer Derek Sandy has missed out on a place in the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
In tonight’s (Saturday) ITV programme, he was among those being considered by judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden for the next stage of the competition.
The judges had put through more people than ever to the deliberation stage, but had only forty slots in the live shows.
David Walliams said,
“You’re all super-talented people and I’m sorry we don’t have room for you in the live shows.”
Reacting to the disappointing news, Derek told the programme,
“What can I say? That’s how it goes sometimes.”
Derek had told Britain’s Got Talent that he had always dreamed of being in the competition and “on the biggest stage in the world.”
There is good news for Derek, however. He will play at The Great Wonderfest later this year. And you will be able to hear him on Isle of Wight Radio on Thursday’s Breakfast Show will Paul Topping.
And here are his best bits (so far…)
