The results of the European Election in the South East region have been announced.
The area, which is represented by 10 MEPs, gave its biggest number of votes (915,686) to The Brexit Party. It will send 4 MEPs to Brussels, including Nigel Farage.
The Liberal Democrats won 653,743 votes and three MEPs.
The Greens finished third in the region (343,249 votes), the Conservatives were fourth (260,277 votes) and Labour was fifth (184,678 votes). Each will send one MEP to Europe.
Earlier, the Isle of Wight results (which were added to the South East’s total) revealed huge support for The Brexit Party and a significant change in voting patterns here.
Islanders Vix Lowthion (Green) and Daryll Pitcher (UKIP) did not win seats at Brussels. Both were running in third place on their respective parties’ lists.
