Rock star Noel Gallagher took the helm on board a Wightlink ferry as he sailed across to the Isle of Wight this weekend.
The Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back In Anger singer joined the captain and crew on board the Wightlink crossing ahead of his performance at the Isle of Wight Festival with his band ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ on Friday night (14).
The former Oasis frontman chatted to passengers, including one man – Jim Gallagher – who told the singer he thought they could be distant relatives.

Meanwhile, Tom Walker has told how he partied a little too hard to Fatboy Slim’s set at the festival on Saturday – and sung with a hangover the following day.
Speaking to Absolute Radio, the Just You and I singer said:
“That’s me: hungover. I got a bit too involved with the Fatboy Slim gig last night and I got a bit excited – it’s the first time I’ve chilled at a festival really, and I just got a bit carried away.
“I had the most fun but I woke up this morning just like: ‘you idiot.’ I’ve got play in front of like 10,000 of people on the main stage and then do an acoustic session afterwards – easy peasie when you’re hungover!”
