More than 200 addresses in and around Ryde and Binstead have been hit by a power cut this afternoon (Monday).
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks says the outage was first reported at 11.25am – with 1,799 properties initially affected.
The supplier says its engineers are on site and working to fix the problem.
Binstead Primary School’s telephone system is currently down as a result. The Isle of Wight Council says the headteacher will assess the situation soon.

Power is expected to be back on from 2.30pm.
The council says power is now back up and running at Binstead Primary School.
