At the Island Games in Gibraltar this afternoon (Monday 8 July) Team Isle of Wight’s swimmers and athletes are hoping to add more Golds to the list.
Abi Lacey has achieved the first medal for the Island’s team in the pool, she has won silver in the women’s 400m individual medley.
Another GOLD for Team Isle of Wight, James Forman has won the men’s 400m hurdles.
TWO judo GOLDS for Team Isle of Wight, won by sisters Emily and Hannah Niven, aged 18 and 16, who gained successes in the women’s 63kg and 52kg respectively.

In athletics tonight, we have James Forman in the 400m hurdles and Dan Eckersley in the 3000m steeplechase, both chasing gold.
Teenager Amelie Haworth made it through to the squash semi-finals earlier.
Team Isle of Wight’s basketball players are also back on track with a 105-40 win against Aland, they have a big game tomorrow when they face the Isle of Man.
