The Isle of Wight’s athletes will be hoping to better yesterday’s (Tuesday’s) medal haul at the Island Games today (Wednesday).

Team Isle of Wight claimed an impressive one gold and five bronze medals in Gibraltar.

Among the events today is the mens’ 100 metres. Max Henley and Gavin Bodrell will compete for Team Isle of Wight.
Maisie Witty and Mabel Lewis are some of the Isle of Wight women on the track – they will take on the 800 metres.
And, Henrie McLuckie’s preparing for a 5,000 metre final and and a 1,500 metre heat.
So far today, Team Isle of Wight has claimed one medal already.
Dan Blinkhorn’s got gold in the men’s open weight category – taking our overall gold medal tally up to nine.
*13-year-old Amelie Haworth has claimed another bronze this afternoon. This time alongside Fleur Orchard in the squash ladies’ doubles.
**Imogen Moss has claimed a bronze in the ladies’ air pistol event.
