As overnight parking charges roll out on the Isle of Wight, we have been told that some machines will not issue tickets to motorists shelling out £1.

This machine in Shanklin this week did not recognise the £1 payment…

Some machines cite “insufficient funds” – suggesting a minimum £1.50 payment is required before a parking ticket is issued.

This machine in Ryde had a similar problem…

Isle of Wight Radio has asked the Isle of Wight Council if any tickets have been issued as a result and if any reimbursements are likely to be made.
