A road closure on Shanklin Road – and the bottom section of Victoria Avenue – will no longer be in force tonight (Thursday), after works were completed ahead of schedule.
As previously reported by Isle of Wight Radio, the route was shut yesterday to allow Island Roads to carry out work on an underground tunnel at Scotchell’s Brook.
It meant major delays throughout the day, particularly around Apse Heath roundabout.
A spokesperson for Island Roads says work is now complete, meaning the road can remain open.
It has thanked motorists for their patience.
