Students on the Isle of Wight are celebrating A-Level success today (Thursday).

Post-16 pupils from across the Island have received their results and are now planning for the future.

Some will be heading to their chosen university, taking part in apprenticeships or even full-time employment.

As previously reported, Isle of Wight Radio’s newsteam has been out and about chatting to some of those opening envelopes.

According to the Isle of Wight Council, provisional results are up this year compared to last.

It says the average A-level grade has improved to a C from a C- last year.
