Isle of Wight Radio understands, three rescue helicopters have been called to Yaverland today (Saturday) after a 15-year-old slipped and fell part-way down a cliff.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight and Thames Valley Air Ambulances, alongside coastguard teams and paramedics, were called to the scene at 2.40pm.

It’s believed the boy fell down the Yaverland cliffs between Culver Down and Sandown.

An Isle of Wight Ambulance Service spokesperson said the 15-year-old boy had slipped and fallen partway down the cliff.

The teenager has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital.
