Gail Powell – a team leader at the Way Forward Programme – parted with her precious locks this afternoon (Monday).
Colleagues and friends watched on at the centre, in Newport’s Dodnor Industrial Estate.
Speaking to Isle of Wight Radio, Gail said:
“We’re a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities. So I’ve just done it for them really.
“We run groups throughout the week, we do evening and weekend support as well. Any money raised goes straight into the charity to help support the guys here.”
Lucy, who goes to the charity, was chosen to do the honours for Gail.
The centre is still encouraging donations. You can head to the Way Forward Programme’s Facebook page or give them a call on (01983) 523000.
