Over land and sea – and maybe in the air!

That’s the challenge for three off duty teams from the Isle of Wight’s emergency services.
The Bluelight Breakout is underway in aid of the Wight Brainy Bunch.
They have to get as far away as they can from the Island in 50 hours – with no money.
Team Police (Iain Lane and Tom Ramsay), Team Ambulance (Lynsey Groves and Alisdair Day) and Team Fire (Mark Grimes and Ross Smallcombe) left Isle of Wight Radio this morning (Thursday).
The three teams have no money and will need to beg and blag their way as far as possible.
Team Police were taken in a 5-litre Jaguar towards Wightlink’s Yarmouth ferry terminal – before diverting to east Cowes they managed to commandeer a boat and make their way to Southampton.
Team Ambulance were driven in an army-style wagon to East Cowes, where they managed to blag their way onto the Red Funnel ferry – where they even got to steer it. They were last seen heading towards Southampton Airport.
Team Fire were driven in a Ford Mustang to Wightlink’s Fishbourne ferry terminal where they convinced a lorry driver to let them get on board and get on the ferry. They were bought food and drink by passengers on board – and steered the boat – before last being seen in Portsmouth.
