Team Fire at their final destination.

This year’s Blue Light Break Out is officially over – with emotional scenes as the winner was crowned!

Team Fire will (eventually) take home the prize after travelling an incredible 1,760.55 miles.

They managed to get as far as Tenerife in just 50 hours – spending no money whatsoever!

It was a very emotional return to the Canary Islands for the Isle of Wight’s Mark Grimes, from the Wight Brainy Bunch.

He returned to the restaurant where he first discovered he had brain tumour, after suffering a seizure.

Throughout their trip, they have been on two boats, spoke two different languages, snored in campervans and even had a few glasses of wine with the army!

Meanwhile, Team Police managed to make it to Eastern Greece – coming in in second. They finished with 1,464.56 miles on the clock.

They also ironically bumped into Team Ambulance on the plane as they jetted off yesterday.

Team Ambulance traveled to the Island of Thassos yesterday… until they realised they had made a “boo-boo” and left again today.

They have ended up in Kavala, Northern Greece. They came in third, travelling 1,399.78 miles.

An amazing effort by all the teams! A massive congratulations from everyone here at Isle of Wight Radio.
