An anchor which became detached from a Red Funnel ferry, near Cowes, has been retrieved from the seabed.
The Red Eagle vessel lost one of its two anchors during last Wednesday’s (2) 9am sailing from Southampton to East Cowes.
It caused the ferry to grind to a halt off Cowes.
All passengers and vehicles were able to safely disembark after a short delay in berthing.
An operation was launched by Cowes Harbour Commission, on behalf of Red Funnel, to find and recover the anchor – which was completed today (Tuesday).
Red Funnel has launched an investigation into what caused the anchor to drop.
