The Isle of Wight MP is challenging cross-Solent operators to reassure Islanders ahead of the winter challenges.
Bob Seely said:
“I want to avoid the same situation as last year where maintenance and operational issues – coupled with adverse weather conditions – led to significant inconvenience for Islanders. I want to make sure that the firms are confident that they will be able to provide a reliable service through winter.”
Mr Seely says he want to make sure that travel delays will be limited only by unavoidable and adverse weather.
He has also asked the firms to consider making adjustments to foot ferry services, in response to residents’ concerns about the impact of rail delays on catching the last foot passenger ferry back.
