It’s almost time to light up the skies – and Isle of Wight Radio has the perfect guide to all things Spooks and Sparks!

We’ve teamed up with events across the island to bring you the Spooks and Sparks Guide for 2019 to bring you a lineup of the best Halloween and bonfire night events across the island!

 

Halloween Horror – 26th October
Bembridge Youth and Community Centre, Steyne Road, Bembridge
7 pm start, FREE entry!

Join the Bembridge Youth and Community Centre for a night of ghoulish fun and games on Saturday 26th October at their annual Halloween Horror event.

With fancy dress competitions for both the children and the big kids amongst us it’s bound to be fun. There’s also games, a DJ, and a licensed bar which will be open from 6pm.

Halloween Horror starts at 7pm and entry is free!

Looking for Halloween-themed activities to keep the kids entertained? Frights & Sprites offers plenty of themed activities including Halloween crafting, a boo maze, and a Halloween quest to keep your little ghosts and ghouls occupied.

Halloween Extravaganza – 29th October – 1st November
Arreton Barns, Main Road, Arreton
10:30 am until 5:30 pm until 31st October, special times 1st November, FREE entry!

Calling all little witches, wizards ghosts and ghouls, Arreton Barns ‘Fang-tastic’ Halloween Extravaganza will be returning for another year of ‘spooktacular’ family fun.

Adorn your best fancy dress to be in for a chance of winning the prize for best costume and enjoy three days of brilliant Halloween themed activities from 29th – 31st October, including pumpkin carving, ghost walks, monster parties and much more.

Head on back to the Barns for November 1st to enjoy the spectacular finale to the spooky festivities with a bonfire and fireworks. Don’t forget to head over to the Dairyman’s Daughter to enjoy a delicious hearty meal and a well-deserved drink after your little monsters have enjoyed the day’s events.

Bembridge Fireworks Night – 1st November
Bembridge Youth and Community Centre, Steyne Road, Bembridge
6:30 pm start, FREE entry!

Bembridge Fireworks Night will be held in Steyne Park on Friday 1st November from 6:30pm until 8:30pm. This year will see stalls in the hall, food stalls outside, a DJ on the terrace and the bar will be open all night with fireworks at 7:30pm.

Please don’t bring any sparklers or fireworks into Steyne Park on the night and remember that the car park will be closed and there will be ‘no waiting’ cones along Steyne Road.

It’s free entry but a small donation in aid of the BYCC would be appreciated.

Isle of Wight Community Club Fireworks Night  – 2nd November
Isle of Wight Community Club, Park Road, Cowes
7 pm start, FREE entry!

Join the Isle of Wight Community Club for their fantastic and totally free firework display. Starting at 19:30 and finishing when it’s finished! The bar will be open as usual. Free parking – with a bus stop adjacent to the club driveway!

Please remember to keep a very close eye on your children. This event gets VERY busy and children must be supervised at all times.

Sandown Esplanade
Entertainment from 4 pm, FREE entry!

The final event of our 130th Anniversary year!

Kicking off on Sandown Esplanade from 4 pm with family fun and entertainment, music and a range of hot food stalls!

All evening Bay Entertainment will be playing the latest tunes and your requests.

5.15pm – Oyster Girls & Moonshine Border Morris Dancing near the pie.
6.00pm – Jukebox Jazz perform near the pier.
6.15pm – Ryde Extreme Performers Fire Show on the beach.
6.30pm – Oyster Girls & Moonshine Border Morris Dancing near the pier.
6.45pm – Hoopfinity L.E.D Hoop Show on the main stage.
7.15pm – Jukebox Jazz perform near the pier.
7.15pm – Ryde Extreme Performers Fire Show on the beach.
7.45pm – Hoopfinity Fire & Spark show on the main stage.
8.00pm – Our biggest ever Firework Finale fired from Sandown Pier.

Plus come and meet Captain America, Wonder Woman, Bumblebee, Bobby Bear and Cheeko the friendly squirrel from 6pm.

Lots of side shows including bungee trampolines and vintage amusements will also be on hand to keep you entertained through this action packed event.

A donation given to the collectors will be welcomed.

Spyglass Inn Fireworks Night  – 5th November
Spyglass Inn, Ventnor Esplanade
7 pm start, FREE entry!

Head to the Spyglass on 5th November and enjoy Firework Night with a marvelous firework display.

Each year The Spyglass Inn organizes a firework display for the whole of Ventnor to enjoy free of charge. So why not take a walk down to the seafront and get a front-row seat to all the action here at The Spyglass? Indulge in something delicious from our main menu or specials board and enjoy a drink or two whilst you’re here.

Fireworks are due to start sometime between 7-7:30 pm.
