The Isle of Wight’s Lord-Lieutenant Susie Sheldon has opened a new Study Centre at the Island Riding Centre.
In September 2018, the Riding Centre paired up with HTP Apprenticeship College to create a full-time course, offering a Level 1 Diploma in Riding and Horse Care- which is a first for the Isle of Wight.
Students on the course performed a short demonstration for staff and Susie when she opened the new centre on Tuesday (15 October).

The Island Riding Centre opened in July two years ago and is a fully insured, council-licensed equestrian centre and holiday complex based on Staplers Road, Newport.
Owner Louise says the centre is “suitable for riders (and non-riders) both young and old” and “those with limited physical abilities, novice riders to experts”.
