There is a Flood Alert on the Isle of Wight’s Eastern Yar this morning (Monday).
Sandown’s Golf Links and Moreton Common Roads are likely to see flooding.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said,
“Water levels in the Eastern Yar have receded overnight but will increase by a small amount this morning following last night’s rain. No rain is forecast today (Monday) or tomorrow (Tuesday) allowing levels to fall slowly but another band of potentially heavy rain is forecast during Wednesday (13/11/19) and Thursday (14/11/19) although there is uncertainty as to its intensity.”
As the river is responsive to modest rainfall, levels at Langbridge and Alverstone may return to last week’s levels or higher and maintain water in fields near the river.
An update is due at 11am tomorrow, says the environment agency.
