The Brexit Party’s former Isle of Wight candidate says he is “very disappointed” after being withdrawn from the race to become the Isle of Wight’s next MP.
Berkshire-based businessman Peter Wiltshire was among those required to step aside, as The Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage made an announcement yesterday.
The party is not contesting seats in places won by the Conservatives in the 2017 election.
Mr Wiltshire confirmed to Isle of Wight Radio that he would not be standing after all. He said,
“It took me ages to get it confirmed. I’m very disappointed.”
The Isle of Wight has a number of candidates hoping to be our MP after the 12 December election. Find the details at iwradio.co.uk/vote2019.
