A memorial remembering the animals that died during World War One will be unveiled today (Saturday).
It has been designed by students from Sandown’s The Bay CE, who attend the school’s award-winning Community Kids Club.
The wooden sculpture – created by Island artist Paul Sivell – depicts animals who died during the conflict.
Pupils’ involvement forms part of their Battlefields to Butterflies project, which saw them plant seeds at Osborne House to recreate a battleground site.
It will be revealed by a host of Island dignitaries at Sandown’s Broadway Centre between 11am and 2pm.
