Hundreds of pounds in cash has been stolen in a robbery at a shop in Sandown.

Police were called to the Central Convenience Store on Avenue Road just after 9pm last night (Tuesday).

In total, £300 was stolen, along with pouches of tobacco.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said:

“We were called just after 9pm last night (November 19) to a report of a robbery at a store in Avenue Road, Sandown.

“The man stolen more than £300 cash and several pouches of tobacco.

“Anyone who saw anything suspicious or with any information about the robbery should call 101, quoting the reference 44190416530.”
