A Christmas tree – which cost Ryde’s Busy Bee Garden Centre thousands of pounds – has been vandalised.
It is the second time a tree has been damaged in the town in the past week.
Posting on Facebook, the garden centre – known for its Christmas World – says it happened in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
“Our magnificent Russian illuminated tree costing many thousands of pounds was severely damaged by four youths at 1:10am this morning (Saturday).
“Lights were ripped off and holes made in the tree, trolleys were destroyed until they finally finished their rampage and caught the 1:43am bus to Ryde.
“Our cameras have recorded the incident, as will have the cameras at McDonald’s and the bus they caught.
“The miscreants are advised to contact Busy Bee urgently accompanied by their parents, failing which they will be prosecuted and claims for damage submitted.“
Busy Bee says it has reported the incident to police.
