An Island business has stepped in to help an Isle of Wight man who was left stranded last month (January) by the RAC.

As previously reported, Paul Green received an apology from the firm, after he was left waiting over two hours late at night for a recovery service to fix his tyre.

Family-run business Bartletts said it was “unacceptable” and offered him a free Isle of Wight recovery service.

Richard from Bartletts told Isle of Wight Radio:

“We have offered him a free Isle of Wight recovery service which entitles him to essentially the same as what national break down companies will offer but we do it on a local basis.

“We know the roads, we know people, we know what we’re dealing with – we have offered him that free of charge purely because of his unfortunate circumstances he received the other day.”

Paul said he was over the moon with the offer and it had recently been his birthday – which he said he felt had come round again.

Paul said:

“[I’m] happy to have been offered a subscription with Bartlett’s, I feel a lot safer than I did before, they’re a good family company with empathy for normal people.”
