Barrhead Travel has officially opened its first travel agency on the Isle of Wight.

A special ceremony took place at the store on Newport High Street on Thursday (13).

Employees from the Isle of Wight store have undertaken training at the company’s dedicated Training Academy in Glasgow – with a number of former Thomas Cook employees taking on roles within the business.

Mountbatten Chief Executive, Nigel Hartley, cut the ribbon to officially open the store.

Headed up by manager, Emma Ram and Assistant Manager Emily Watson, the high street travel agency will specialise in all types of holidays.

Emma said:

“I am so delighted to be back on the high street with my team on a new and exciting journey. The Barrhead Travel offering will really enhance our customer experience, allowing us to tailor-make exactly the right trips for our clients.

“The community on the Isle of Wight have been so supportive of our team and we know that they will love the Barrhead Travel brand.”

Founded in 1975, the travel company has over 80 locations across the UK and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of North-American firm, Travel Leaders Group.
