A Ryde School hockey coach has successfully gained a place on the Hockey for Heroes squad for 2025.

Shanklin based Pip Spibey and her teammates will be touring the country from 23 to 31 May, completing gruelling daily fitness races to cover 2,029,201 metres - one for every veteran living in the UK today.

These challenges will take place alongside a season's worth of hockey matches (54) in just nine days.

Mission Peace Finder is hoping to raise awareness and vital funds to support Help the Heroes in their services to deliver life changing support to help rebuild service personnel’s lives and continue to act as a beacon of hope for veterans.

Pip said:

"I am very excited to be part of the challenge and with a little over a month to go training is ramping up.
"Juggling being a mum to twin boys, training and encouraging hockey players on the Island to be the best they can is a challenge.
"I'm confident it can be done."
