Successful Launch Of Isle Of Wight Open Studios Showcase Exhibition

A vibrant evening at Quay Arts in Newport marked the official opening of the Isle of Wight Open Studios Showcase Exhibition on Wednesday, 2 April.
More than 110 guests, including local artists, art lovers, and VIP’s including the outgoing and incoming High Sheriffs of the Isle of Wight, gathered for the celebration, enjoying drinks and conversation in the Café before the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Special guest Graham Biss BEM DL, the outgoing High Sheriff, officially opened the exhibition in the West Gallery.
He said:
“I was keen to accept the invitation to open the Open Studios Exhibition because of the important role the creative sector plays on the Island.
"The creative community is a very special one, and we should rightly celebrate it.”
“The quality and vibrancy of the Island’s artist community is one of our key assets.”
Running from 3 April to 31 May, the free exhibition showcases work from 90 of the 150+ artists.

participating in this year’s Isle of Wight Open Studios. Visitors can expect an eclectic mix of styles and mediums that reflect the incredible depth of local talent. The exhibition is open daily from 9am to 5pm daily, including Sundays.
The Showcase offers a preview of what’s to come in the main Open Studios event, taking place from 16 to 26 May.
During this popular annual celebration, visitors can explore working studios across the
Island, meet artists, watch live demonstrations, and purchase original works directly from the makers.
