The Bay CE Primary School (primary site) is celebrating after securing third place in the highly competitive regional final of Dance Live, held at Portsmouth Guildhall on Thursday 24 April.
Competing against over 100 schools in the heats in February and then the final, The Bay CE School impressed judges and audiences with their innovative performance, based around being perfect in an imperfect world.
The judges commented on the engagement of all children in a thought provoking concept.
They said that the children clearly enjoyed participating in the event and put on ‘a very professional performance'.

Mrs. Steph Dunford, Dance Live Coordinator at The Bay CE School, expressed immense pride in the students' dedication and teamwork, saying:
“We could not be prouder of our Dance Live team; they have all worked so hard to perfect the performance and it has paid off.”
Head of School (Primary), Mrs. Nina Lawrence, said:
“We are delighted for our children and staff team, who have all dedicated so much time to delivering such a fantastic performance.
“We would also like to thank their family members, who have supported them along their journey to the final and were there to cheer them on.”
Grace, age 11, said:
“Dance Live is one of the best things about school. I have been involved since I was in Year 3.
"I love helping the younger students and watching them develop and improve.”
The Bay CE Primary School's achievement at the Dance Live regional final shows the school's commitment to encouraging creativity and performance for pupils.
The school has a strong reputation in Dance live having won the regional final in 2023 and 2024.
The school achieved the Silver Artsmark award in December 2024.
To achieve their Artsmark Award, The Bay CE School had to develop their arts and cultural provision, to embed a broad and ambitious curriculum.
This was achieved by creating an overall plan that was committed to, and delivered, across the whole school.
