A 15 year-old boy and woman in her 30s have been arrested following an incident in Shanklin which left a man with facial injuries.
Officers were called at 8.50pm last night (Thursday) to reports of a group of people shouting and acting aggressively in Green Lane followed by a report a short while later that a man had been assaulted.
Officers attended and located a man in his 30s with facial injuries. The injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault, and two people have been arrested by police.
A 36-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy have both been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain in custody at this time.
