Busy Night For Ryde Firefighters

It was a busy night for firefighters in Ryde as they were called out four times to various incidents.

The first call came at 8.28pm last night (Tuesday) to reports of youths lighting fires on the beach on Quay Road. On arrival nothing but ash left from cardboard boxes on the sea wall. Advice was given to youths.

The second call was at 11.44pm to assist the ambulance service gain entry to a property on Castle Street, Ryde. Entry was gained and the occupant left in hands of ambulance service.

The third call at 12.30am was to a fire involving a motorbike and scooter near to Hillrise Avenue, Binstead. One hose reel was used to put out the fire.

The final call of the night was at 1.35am to assist the ambulance service extricate a patient from a property in George Street, Ryde. The patient was left in care of ambulance service.
