Fun Palace Heading To Mottistone Gardens

Mottistone Gardens - run by the National Trust - is to hold its first ever Fun Palace on Sunday October 2.

From 11am-3pm visitors will be able to enter to gardens for free and take part in a day of art.

From carving a pumpkin to designing a mosaic, or writing a poem, everyone is welcome to have a go at creating something special and unique to themselves.

The gardens will act as a backdrop and provide inspiration, whilst anyone from child to adult can use their imagination and creativity to try something new or share their skills.

Senior Volunteering and Community Officer, Dee, said:

“We have an amazing event planned. Individuals and community projects, including Men in Sheds and Age UK, have come together to provide an abundance of arts activities for everyone to enjoy. Come and join us and put your heart into art.”

Fun Palaces support local people to co-create their own cultural and community events across the UK, and worldwide. Each year, they run a Fun Palaces Weekend of Celebration on the first weekend in October to share and celebrate the genius in everybody.

The event is expected to be the first in a series of Fun Palace community events held on forthcoming Sundays, with the next expected at Christmas.
