MPs will have their pay frozen next year.
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority says a rise would be "inconsistent" with the economic damage caused by coronavirus.
Last month, the Prime Minister said salaries shouldn't increase.
The Island's MP Bob Seely has welcomed the move on Twitter.
Good. MPs should NOT take a pay rise while there is a public pay freeze. Also right that NHS and those at lower end of pay scales not included in the freeze. https://t.co/HZhXfI5ejn #iwnews #IsleofWight #IOW
